About the theme

This webinar focuses on the review of the prudential framework for insurance companies, Solvency II. European decision makers and stakeholders will bring their views on the review process and discuss key changes currently under examination. Particular attention will be paid to the discussion of measures to deal with the low interest rate environment, measures to support the Capital Markets Union and measures to preserve financial stability (also in light of the COVID-19 crisis).

This intervention could focus on the examinations undertaken by EIOPA and focus, for instance, on measures to improve EU-wide harmonisation of rules and measures to preserve financial stability.

This intervention could bring the viewpoint of the Belgian insurance sector and focus, for instance, on proposed measures that have been tested recently by Belgian companies.

This intervention could bring a view on the improvements the European Commission envisages with this review and focus, for instance, on measures to support the Capital Markets Union.
